As I'm sure most of you know, I found a puppy about two weeks ago. Jimmy and I were walking home from my parents house (7 doors up from ours), when we spotted a tiny dog hiding under a parked car. I of course went to investigate - I mean really, who can possibly walk past an abandoned animal without doing anything to help? I pulled out the puppy and my heart sank as I noticed that she didn't have on a collar. And she was terrified. Like shaking and cowering to the ground terrified. Well, my heart, which had moments ago sank, began to melt. I knew I couldn't bring her to our house as we have two super big dogs (some even call them horses) that was traumatize her even more. As I've mentioned before, Frank the Tank can be a big finicky with his choice of canine pals. Anyway, I took her up to my parents house, not really knowing what to expect. You see, I have a bit of history with my parents in this department. In high school, I rescued two kittens from an abandoned construction site and brought them to my mom (I should mention that my dad is highly allergic to cats). We found them both homes. Then, also in high school, my boyfriend showed up with a puppy as a Valentines Day present...mind you, we had only been dating for about a month and he didn't really talk to my parents about the gift prior to gifting. That puppy is still around and can be found living at my parents house...his name is Mac and he is now 11 years old. About two years ago I found another kitten in my neighborhood and took it to who else? Mom. Our vets office took it in the next day.
So here we are back to the present story about the lost puppy. Surprisingly, mom and dad weren't too upset about my 'gifting' them with yet another animal. I guess they are just used to it by now :-)
So without further ado, I'd like to introduce the latest addition to the Noyes household...meet Daisy!
