5 Week Update

Can you believe that Reid was 5 weeks old yesterday??? He will be equivalent to 33 weeks gestation tomorrow. For those of you who aren't familiar with pregnancy lingo, that just means that if he were still in my belly, he wouldn't be due to make his official debut into the outside world for another 7 weeks! He is 3 pounds, 12 ounces...4 more ounces and we hit the 4 pound marker! I fed Reid from a bottle again yesterday. This was our second time practicing and he actually took 10 cc's (1/3 ounce). It took almost an hour for him to eat that amount, but he's getting better at it. Reid's red blood cell count was a little low again today. Dr. Ahmed is going to watch him for a day or two and then decide if another blood transfusion is in order. He wasn't concerned about the possibility of this happening, so I'm trying not to be concerned either. Whatever will make him feel better and help him grow... Until tomorrow!
